Persimmon East Scotland has supported the East Lothian Men’s Shed with a donation of building materials collected from its Burgh Gate development in East Lothian.

The Men’s Shed movement encourages connection, conversation, and creativity, providing opportunities for members to come together to make, repair, and repurpose items while supporting projects in their local communities. The initiative also plays a crucial role in improving wellbeing, reducing loneliness, and combating social isolation.

The donated materials, including wood, nails, and other building supplies, will enable the men to create more designs and projects in their workshop. These activities not only promote creativity but also help tackle mental health issues by offering a supportive environment where members can engage in meaningful work and build friendships.

Kevin Ferris, Persimmon East Scotland construction director, said: “We’re delighted to support the East Lothian Men’s Shed with this donation. Men’s Sheds do incredible work in bringing people together, fostering creativity, and improving wellbeing in local communities.

“It’s great to know that materials from our Burgh Gate development will be put to such good use.”
