Persimmon purchases site for next phase of major West Lothian development
Working with Winchburgh Developments Limited (WDL), Persimmon Homes East Scotland has completed the purchase of land and been granted planning permission for the latest phase of the WDL masterplan, paving the way for 131 energy-efficient new homes.
The purchase represents a further step in delivering WDL’s long-term vision for Winchburgh as a vibrant and sustainable community. Once complete, the masterplan will include over 3,800 new homes, extensive green spaces, a marina, and new schools – enhancing the area’s appeal as a destination for families and professionals.
The new Persimmon development will feature a mix of two to four-bedroom homes, designed with sustainability at their core. Homes will include solar panels and electric vehicle charging points, supporting residents in reducing their carbon footprint and lowering household energy costs.
The project is expected to generate over 70 full-time construction jobs annually, alongside 50 additional roles in the local supply chain.
Donald Gunn, land director at Persimmon Homes East Scotland, said: “We are thrilled to have completed the purchase of land for this exciting new phase of development at Winchburgh.
