Persimmon set to begin new development at Dargavel Village
Persimmon West Scotland has announced plans for the construction of 309 new homes at Dargavel Village, with construction to begin early this year.
The Dargavel Village development will offer a wide variety of 309 new energy-efficient homes, ranging from two to five bedrooms. This includes 35 of the new homes being built under the company’s prestigious Charles Church banner, offering a range of larger properties.
In addition, 23 of the new high-quality homes will be transferred to a local housing association.
Persimmon West Scotland completed the purchase of the site at the end of 2023, with construction work scheduled to begin early this year.
The new development in Dargavel Village will form part of the larger regeneration of BAE Systems’ old Royal Ordinance Factory.
When complete, Dargavel Village will comprise new housing, commercial and community buildings, a woodland park and recreational facilities. It is named after Dargavel House, a Grade B listed tower house building situated within the grounds of the BAE Systems’ site, which has parts which date back to 1514.
Persimmon West Scotland land director Craig Moore said: “Dargavel Village is an award-winning development which has grown to become one of the premier destinations for family housing in the west of Scotland.
“We’re delighted to begin construction on this next phase of the development, and to play our part in the ongoing transformation of the site into a vibrant and sustainable new community.”
