Persimmon to deliver 86 homes on former Wishaw hospital site following appeal
Persimmon is to start work on 86 new homes on the grounds of the former Cleland Hospital in Wishaw in the coming weeks after it completed the purchase of the site from NHS Lanarkshire.
The housebuilder first formally lodged proposals with North Lanarkshire Council 18 months ago but saw its plans unanimously rejected by the local authority’s planning committee earlier this year.
Approval would have seen a mixture of detached, semi-detached and terraced houses, ranging from two to four bedrooms.
Following a successful appeal to the decision, the company has moved forward with the land acquisition.
