Persimmon Homes has announced plans to launch a third Scottish division following sustained and ongoing success across the country.

John Cassie, regional chairman at Persimmon Homes in Scotland, said the new business will support over 1,000 jobs and deliver in excess of 400 new homes in the coming year.

To be based in Perth, the new Persimmon Homes Scotland North will cover an area that includes North Lanarkshire, Perth and Stirling, Fife and Grampian.

John said: “A consistent high demand for quality new homes has resulted in continual growth for our existing East and West businesses in Scotland.

“2016 looks set to be even busier than this year and that is why we are investing in this new business and we are now gearing up to recruit new talent for our new North region.

“Our recruitment process is not just about filling roles we are looking for the very best people to join us and we anticipate that we will be able to grow our business by building as many as 600 new homes in the North Region in the medium term.”

New managing director Iain Innes, who has over 30 years experience in the sector, will head up the new operation supported by key individuals drawn from the existing businesses.

The new North team is currently looking for around 25 Perth office-based recruits for jobs at various levels in disciplines including architectural design, buying, accounts, civil engineering, quantity surveying, customer care, construction managers and sales managers as well as a range of admin support positions.

John added: “The new region will commence with circa 16 live developments in 2016 and then look for new opportunities across the region to grow the business further in a controlled manner.

“Demand is such that we are asking local authorities across Scotland to work in partnership with our East, West and North regions to ensure that much-needed new homes are delivered as quickly as possible to help meet the acknowledged housing shortfall.”
