Pipeline works to begin on £25m biomass facility in Fife

Contractors are due to begin developing a new biomass pipeline in Fife.

The new £25 million St Andrews University biomass plant is being built on the site of a former paper mill in Guardbridge.

Hot water will be pumped from the plant four miles underground to heat/cool laboratories and student residences in St Andrews.

However, to allow the construction of the new pipeline, the A919 road will be closed from Monday, 15 February.

The works are expected to last approximately eight weeks.
