Planning approved for 44 new homes in Stirling

Plans by developers Allanwater Developments for the plot at Maitland Crescent were given the green light by members of the council’s planning and regulation panel last week.

The proposal comprises of 4 one-bedroom apartments, 20 two-bedroom apartments, 7 two-bedroom terraced houses, 5 three-bedroom terraced houses, 2 three-bedroom semi-detached houses, 4 three-bedroom detached houses and 2 four-bedroom detached houses. The development also includes three parking courts and a central green.

Convenor of the planning and regulation panel, Councillor Alasdair MacPherson, said: “This project will provide a supply of good quality, energy-efficient housing on a site that has lain vacant for a number of years. We are committed to providing new homes for those who need them and I look forward to the project being developed.”

Vice convenor, Councillor Danny Gibson, said: “These new houses will be built at a prominent location on a key entrance into Stirling city centre, and ensuring a positive reuse of the site is an important step in improving the area for the communities who already live there.”
