Plans for new ‘creative hub’ at the Briggait
Proposals to develop a new “creative hub” at the Briggait have been submitted to Glasgow City Council.
Collective Architecture said its design would “grow the cultural community that has been resident in the developed parts of the Briggait complex since 2010” and “knit two disparate halves of the complex back together”.
The works will include the conservation and refurbishment of the rear 1889 and 1904 halls for events and market use, and the 1904 corner block as a standalone rentable unit.
The Briggait complex is managed by arts charity Wasps, with the original 1873 hall used for events, markets and exhibitions.
