Plans lodged for 43 homes near Udny Station
Plans have been submitted to build 43 homes and two business units near Udny Station in Aberdeenshire.
Last year, similar proposals were lodged then withdrawn by MRT Architects and JNF Developments.
The new proposals have been created following discussions with Aberdeenshire Council officers, and the number of homes planned for the site has been reduced slightly from the original 46.
The homes would be built on an open field near Udny Station Road and comprise of three and four-bedroom homes, The Press and Journal reports.
It is hoped that if approved, the development will address a “local demand” for homes in the area.
Planning documents state: “The design and scale of the development within the site respect the character and architectural style of the surrounding village using wet dash render, concrete tiled roofs and reconstituted stone features and window surrounds.
“The proposed layout has been developed to address the site with reference made to its context and local demand for housing within a rural village, and for the provision of dedicated employment land, as allocated within the current local plan.
“The houses would blend naturally with the established landscape character and vernacular of the area, and provide characterful, modern additions to the village.”
A footpath link connecting the development to the Formartine and Buchan Way has also been included in the plans.
