Plans lodged to extend Peterhead’s Buchan House
Plans have been submitted for a £1.5 million extension to Buchan House in Peterhead that would provide dedicated space for Police Scotland.
About this development:
- Authority:Aberdeenshire
- Type:Commercial
- Applications:
- Team:Robertson Group (contractor), Fairhurst (civil and structural engineer), Halliday Fraser Munro (architect and planning consultant), Hutcheon Services (M&E engineer)
The two-storey extension would link to the existing Aberdeenshire Council base on St Peter Street, increase partnership working in the building and share its facilities.
The plans have been developed by Robertson Construction, which has been appointed on a ‘design and build’ basis for the project.
The project would be funded by Aberdeenshire Council and leased to Police Scotland upon completion, with the lower floor used exclusively by police officers and staff and the upper floor offering shared facilities. Additional car parking would also be created.
The principle of the development has already received support from Aberdeenshire Council and Police Scotland. The detailed plans will now be assessed by Aberdeenshire Council’s planning service.
It is hoped work will begin in spring 2019, subject to the approval of planning permission, with completion towards the end of the year.
