Plans submitted for 14 new homes in Earlston

Melrose-based Tweedmount Homes has submitted a planning application to Scottish Borders Council to construct fourteen new homes at Southcroft, on land south of Earlston High School.
If approved, the homes would be a mix of two and three-semi-detached bedroom homes with 10 for sale and four for rent.
A large part of the site will be dedicated to public open space and will incorporate walkways and tree planting, the Border Telegraph reports.
A report submitted with the application reads: “There is an established need for more housing of this type in central locations within Earlston and this is an opportunity to create a small opportunity to meet this demand and provide townsfolk with access to a large public space as required by the council’s plan for the neighbourhood of Earlston.”
