Plans submitted for 22 new homes in Cumnock
Developer Jim Smith has submitted plans to build 22 new homes in Cumnock.
Based on land off Cameron Crescent, the developer has applied for permission to build the residential estate with firm JKM Consultancy making a submission on Mr Smith’s behalf.
A supporting statement submitted alongside the plans addresses concerns that were highlighted in a 2015 representation, including roads and access, flooding, noise and open space, the Daily Record reports.
On flooding concerns, the supporting statement reads: “The flooding potential was noted previously as a substantial risk, however a large proportion of the site lies at high level as shown on the site sections.
“We note the approved recycling plant opposite had a Flood Risk Assessment carried out which clearly showed no risk to most of the application site. This affected is shown on the drawings too. Given this we do not believe a Flood Risk Assessment would be required.”
A supporting statement reads: “The scale of development would not be detrimental to the local amenities and indeed may benefit the new school.
“We don’t believe the development would negatively impact on the Housing Land Supply and would potentially assist by providing much needed housing to the south of the town.”
