Ayrshire-headquartered property and construction business Edison Group has made a clutch of senior appointments to run its East Kilbride-based lead subsidiary Principal Building.

Principal Building comprises formerly Glasgow-based project management, interior fit-out and property maintenance business GDC Design.

Neil Crombie takes up the role of managing director of Principal Building with Patrick Logan as manufacturing manager, while Lynn McNulty is appointed as office manager and Health Safety Environment and Quality (HSEQ) Advisor.

In addition, Graham Christie joins as design director, with Thomas McLaughlan as operations manager, Stewart McKay as estimating manager and Steve Wyllie as production manager.

Calum Melville, CEO of Edison Group, said: “These are significant appointments which represent the key building blocks of our growth ambitions for 2024 and beyond.

“In Neil, Graham, Patrick, Thomas, Stewart, Steve and Lynn we have outstanding individuals with proven track records in the construction sector who are highly capable and, equally important, are utterly determined to see Principal Building grow rapidly over the next few years.

“Our rebranding reflects our expanded range of services from long-established interior fit-out, shopfitting, and manufactured joinery to new main contracting services, covering both new builds and refurbishments.

“Principal Building’s relocation late last year to a state-of-the-art facility in Langlands Business Park, East Kilbride, featuring 16,500 square feet of workshop and office space, fosters an environment that nurtures innovation and encourages the delivery of diverse construction solutions.”

Mr Crombie said: “I am pleased to have been appointed to my new role as managing director at Principal Building and believe I can make a significant contribution to helping the business fulfil its substantial potential.

“We have seen a strong start for the business in Quarter 1, winning contracts of around £16m from a holiday lodges contract at West Ferry, Langbank and housing development contracts in East Kilbride, Port Glasgow and Dunoon along with an industrial new build in Paisley.

“It is our aim to sustain this level of growth over the course of the year, we are confident that we will be able to do so.”
