Prosecutors to consider report into Aberdeen hospital site death
The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has concluded its investigation into the death of a worker at a hospital construction site in Aberdeen and submitted a report to the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service (COPFS).
An unnamed 51-year-old man was killed in an accident on the site of the yet-to-be-opened Baird Family Hospital earlier this year. Emergency services were called to the Foresterhill Health Campus on 18 January but the victim was pronounced dead at the scene after suffering head injuries.
The incident involved a sub-contractor for main contractor Graham.
The report is now being considered by the Crown’s Health and Safety Investigation Unit which looks into complex work-related deaths.
The Baird Family Hospital was due to open in 2020, but has been hit by a series of delays.
There is currently no rescheduled date for opening.
