The upgrade, led by Clackmannanshire Council in partnership with Clackmannan Town Hall Trust, will see a programme of works take place to make the building wind and watertight. This will include a new replacement roof, stonework repairs and cleaning the stonework at the front of the building to improve its appearance. Surveys of the building will take place during the week beginning 24th January, with the work starting later in the year.

The building, which dates back to the 1800s, is in a Conservation Area and the roof replacement works will be carried out in keeping with the Town Hall’s history and in consultation with the Clackmannan Town Hall Trust.

Councillor Craig Holden, spokesperson for housing and the environment, said: “I welcome the work being carried out at Clackmannan Town Hall. Ensuring our built heritage is maintained is important for our communities to feel connected to their past and to provide a place to come together for years to come. Clackmannan Town Hall has been part of the community for well over 100 years and this work will mean this vital community asset has many more years ahead of it.”
