Public sector procurement seminars target kitchen and bathroom installers

LHCPublic sector procurement specialist LHC is hosting a series of free seminars for kitchen and bathroom installers looking for work on public sector contracts.

The seminars will introduce LHC’s new kitchen and bathroom installation framework, due in 2015, and will help kitchen and bathroom firms understand the benefits of frameworks that have been designed to be inclusive of companies of all sizes.

Held at locations across the UK, the events will provide advice on completing successful tendering documentation and will also explain the benefits of PAS91:2013 for multiple tender submissions.

The seminars have been organised in conjunction with the National Federation of Builders (NFB) and the Federation of Master Builders (FMB).

NFB and FMB members should register to attend specific seminar slots at each location. Non-members can attend any option. Each seminar will last approximately 90 minutes.

For its 2015 kitchen and bathroom installation framework, LHC is introducing two workstreams for contracts up to £250k and over £250k. The framework will be rolled out across 14 regions.

LHC director John Skivington said: “Increasing numbers of councils, housing associations and other public sector bodies are keen to engage local SMEs. Their involvement can benefit the local economy and encourage more SMEs to put themselves forward for public sector works.

“For an SME, getting involved in public sector contracts is becoming easier, thanks to changes in procurement regulations.

“LHC is encouraging more small and medium-sized businesses to participate in frameworks by adapting the process to make it easier to tender. These seminars will help kitchen and bathroom installers fully understand the tendering process, using the 2015 kitchen and bathroom framework as a practical example.”

The seminars will run from 3 to 26 November. For more information, visit www.lhc.gov.uk/kb3seminar.
