Record January sales signal positive 2020 outlook for CALA Homes (North)
CALA Homes (North) has outlined plans to deliver 47% more homes this year in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire following a record start to 2020.
The company has kicked off the year reporting its strongest January sales and the opening of a new city centre premises.
Mike Naysmith, managing director for CALA Homes (North), said: “2020 marks 145 years since we were established as the City of Aberdeen Land Association, and we have had an encouraging start to the anniversary year in terms of sales.
“Our new premises, The Living Room, on Rosemount Place, sits on land which CALA once owned and our investment in a city centre office location is a strong indication of our confidence in the market, and in Aberdeen itself.
“This, coupled with our strongest January sales since 2013, when CALA Homes (North) launched, has seen us begin 2020 with real optimism for the year ahead.”
As well as having seven developments currently live, the homebuilder has a further seven sites set to move through the planning system in 2020, equating to over 500 homes for the region.
Mike Naysmith added: “With more developments underway in Aberdeen than any other housebuilder, we have wider diversity in our portfolio than ever before – from one-bedroom apartments to five-bedroom bespoke family homes in both Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire. We have invested in a real mix of longer-term, flagship developments and smaller, more intimate projects across the region, from the city centre, to the suburbs and surrounding affluent locations such as Inverurie.
“We’re always looking ahead to the future delivery of homes, too. We are set to invest £13m in land this year, with seven sites moving through the planning process in 2020 and several others at local development plan bid stage.
“We are also very much open for business when it comes to new land opportunities and are interested in speaking to landowners with development opportunities of all sizes. As ever, we want to deliver homes for the region in the best possible locations.”
