The mid-market housebuilder, which has a large presence in Scotland, saw its operating profit rise to £65.9 million for the year to end April 2018 from £45m previously. Group revenue at Avant, which has its Scottish HQ in Stirling, was up 21% to £446.9m from £369m previously.

Group revenue increased 21% to £446.9m from £369m and the builder reached 1,902 house completions, up from 1,636.

The company has announced a five-year strategy target of more than doubling its output to 4,000 homes a year by 2023.

While Avant Homes said it does not break its figures down by region, chief executive Colin Lewis confirmed that the Central Belt of Scotland, taking in Dundee and Perth as well as Glasgow and Edinburgh, remains an important part of its business.

He said: “The Central Belt is proving to be very buoyant. We’re delighted that we made that choice a few years ago to ensure we concentrate our efforts on the Central Belt and come out of the north east of Scotland. We continue to invest heavily in Scotland with a very successful land acquisition programme.”
