Redpath takes recruitment into own hands with student site manager initiative

Glasgow Caledonian University students Oliver Conroy and Blair MacDonald
With the recruitment crisis in construction creating enormous pressure on both contractors and consultants across all roles, Redpath Construction has teamed up with Glasgow Caledonian University with a view to developing its own site managers.
Oliver Conroy and Blair MacDonald, who are studying the Construction Management course, are currently working on a ward refurbishment and a new Thrombectomy Suite at the Neurosurgery Building at QEUH.
Susan Cardwell, business development & marketing manager, said: “I am delighted that our initial meeting with Mike Galbraith, GCU lecturer in Construction Project Management has given us the opportunity to offer Oliver and Blair this step into work experience and hopefully a career with Redpath.
“Developing the talent of the future is everyone’s responsibility and is a positive step forward in dealing with the recruitment crisis. Redpath has a really interesting mix of projects which will give Oliver and Blair an exciting start in their careers.”
