Report: ESPC reveals how home buyers move across market
ESPC has conducted a study into the property market across Edinburgh, the Lothians, Fife and the Borders, to uncover the locations that buyers move from, and where they most frequently move to.
The report looks back at the property market from January 2019 to July 2024, considering where buyers are currently living when they purchase an onward property, and examines how buyers relocate, including buyers from outside of Scotland, and those from outside of the UK too.
Paul Hilton, CEO of ESPC, said: “The property market has shifted and changed considerably in the last five years, and it’s incredibly interesting to see how buyers are moving around after several years of turbulence, with the pandemic and the cost-of-living crisis both hugely impacting the market in different ways.
“This fascinating deep dive into how buyers move across the country is a great way to help homeowners understand how best to market their property if they’re thinking of selling.
“The data shows that it’s imperative to take a localised approach to selling your home, which is where relying on the knowledge of local property experts can make a huge difference to the success of your sale.”
