Restaurants planned for fire-ravaged Aberdeen beach building
Plans have been lodged by Rossnow Leisure to replace a building destroyed in a blaze on the beach esplanade in Aberdeen.
Jimmy Chung’s restaurant was badly damaged in February of last year.
Alex and Ruth Grahame, owners of the Hornblowers restaurant in Gourdon, now want to develop Aberdeen beach facilities which include a restaurant, takeaway and ice cream parlour.
Designed by TCD Architects, the 26,000 sq ft development could welcome its first customers in 2016.
Ms Grahame said: “We’ve been searching for the perfect site in the city for years and when the lease came up on the site we were really delighted.
“We want the entire building to have a different design inside and out to what was there previously to reflect the natural surroundings.”
The developers said “dozens” of jobs are likely to be created by the development if it is approved by Aberdeen City Council planning bosses.
