RNLI receives fourth donation from Taylor Wimpey

Troon RNLI representatives Urda Cotter and Jean Shields with the latest donation of £275 from Taylor Wimpey West Scotland’s local sales executive Claire Anderson

Taylor Wimpey West Scotland has teamed up with the Royal National Lifeboat Institution to confirm that it will donate £25 for each new home sold and legally completed at its new developments in Troon – Princess Gate and Queens Court.

The latest donation of £275 has been paid to the charity this month, which brings the overall donation paid so far to £3,725 towards the grand sum of £5,650 that has been pledged to the RNLI, with all money going directly to the local RNLI Troon Lifeboat Station.

The donation recognises the ongoing long-term relationship between Taylor Wimpey West Scotland and the RNLI with the money contributing towards the amazing life-saving services the RNLI Troon Lifeboat Station provides. The charity aims to use volunteers wherever possible and with voluntary donations, this donation contributes to funds that are necessary to make this achievable and will help with the RNLI’s overall aim of Saving Lives at Sea

The RNLI has a vital role within the community of Troon, and the local lifeboat station covers the lower Firth of Clyde with its two lifeboats. The station at Troon has been in existence for 150 years (established 1871), and the crew members are dedicated to keeping the local community safe. They have received three RNLI medals for gallantry, as well as a recent RNLI Chief Executive’s Commendation for a rescue in June 2022.

Commenting on the continuing support that it receives from Taylor Wimpey West Scotland, Jean Shields, RNLI Troon vice president, said: “We are extremely grateful for the ongoing support that we have received from Taylor Wimpey West Scotland, and we can’t thank them enough for the latest donation, which takes us closer towards the grand total they pledged. This money will be put to work locally to help us achieve the overall aim of our service to the local community. On behalf of everyone at RNLI, I would like to say a huge thank you.”

Audrey Ross, sales and marketing director at Taylor Wimpey West Scotland, added: ”We are really pleased to be able to continue our support of the RNLI at its Troon Lifeboat Station. Our donation of £3,725 to date reflects our long-term relationship with this essential local charity and service that provides a link between the growing new community at Princess Gate, and the existing community of Troon. Working with the RNLI is a real honour and we are extremely proud to be delivering on our overall commitment to them for the duration of our build period in Troon.

“Being able to work with local charities and organisations that surround our developments means a great deal to us, and it’s always lovely to know that we are helping to make a difference to the lives of people in our local communities.”
