Robertson acquires new Dunbar development site
Housebuilder Robertson Homes has acquired a 17-acre site on Queens Road in Dunbar, East Lothian for the construction of 115 new homes.
Newton Manor is the fourth new land acquisition in the Scotland Central Belt by the independently-owned company in the past six months and will see Robertson continue to have a presence in Dunbar, having recently completed sales at its Fair Acres development.
The site will feature three, four, five and six-bedroom homes from Robertson’s new Artistry collection, ranging from 1,000 sq. ft to nearly 2,400 sq. ft set around a large, open green space.
Construction work is already underway on the site with the first homes expected to be ready for occupation in November 2021.
John Murphy, Robertson Homes managing director, said: “Following on from the success of our existing developments in Haddington and Dunbar we were keen to increase our presence in East Lothian.
“Dunbar is proving incredibly popular with people working in Edinburgh who realise they not only get a better quality of life here with great access to the countryside and the natural beauty of the East coast but also better value for money and a quick and easy commute into the city by train.
“Our Artistry Range homes are also perfectly suited for people wanting to work from home, with cleverly designed spaces that can provide dedicated work areas to keep work and family life distinct.
“We expect demand at Newton Manor to be high and we are also keen to look at further opportunities across East Lothian.”
Robertson is planning to maintain its local supply chain in Dunbar and will continue to work with The Ridge Foundation to provide skills learning for young people in the town. The development will also bring a £1.5 million contribution towards local education in the area.
