Robertson Facilities Management (FM) is celebrating after being recognised for exemplary teamwork at an awards ceremony held by the industry’s professional body.

A team of FM professionals working at Grove Academy in Broughty Ferry, Dundee received the Team of the Year title at the British Institute of Facilities Management (BIFM) Scotland Awards for their outstanding contributions and positive impact on the facility.

They received their award at the BIFM Gala Ball on June 3, held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Glasgow.

Ian Gibson, managing director of Robertson FM, said: “The BIFM award serves as recognition of the outstanding work our FM teams carry out across the UK – consistently going above and beyond to deliver the best possible service for clients.

“The team at Grove Academy embody a positive, can-do spirit, ensuring nothing is beyond their remit – their work ethic and commitment to partnership is central to the ethos of Robertson FM.

“The positive feedback the FM team received from the local community, academic staff and pupils at Grove is a testament of how their passion and hard work has resulted in a service that improves the effectiveness of the school itself.”

Grove AcademyRobertson partnered with Dundee City Council on Grove Academy in 2008, with Robertson Construction carrying out building works and Robertson Facilities Management helping to maintain a first-class learning environment.

Through the support of Robertson FM, the school has also been in a position to invite high-profile guests to the state-of-the-art campus, including Olympic athlete Liz McColgan and Eva Schloss, the stepsister of Anne Frank.

Graham Hutton, head teacher at Grove Academy, said: “The Robertson FM team is superb. I’ve taught in schools in London, in Canada and other parts of Scotland, and I must say I haven’t met a facilities management team that is so helpful and looks after the school so well.”
