Mr Brook, who will take up his new position this month, left Kier as part of a management reshuffle in August.

As managing director of Robertson Construction South business, he will strategically grow its reach in selected markets throughout England and Wales.

Brook will develop Robertson’s relationships, transforming business strategy to deliver ambitious profitable growth.

He said: “Robertson has made impressive strides in recent years despite the challenging market conditions.

“I am excited to join a family-run business that is now leading the way in so many aspects of the construction industry, from workforce development to digital construction, and I look forward to helping drive future growth across the business.”

Previously construction and infrastructure services director with Kier, Nigel Brook and development and property services director Nigel Turner stepped down from their roles last year when Claudio Veritiero was promoted to chief operating officer.

Kier said the management reshuffle was designed to reduce duplication and simplify its management structure as part of the on-going ‘Future Proofing Kier’ cost-saving programme.
