Robertson secures school timber contracts worth £2.4m
Robertson Timber Engineering has won a series of contracts worth around £2.4 million for six under-construction schools.
The company will provide timber frame solutions at Bilston Glen and Southdale School in Midlothian, Kilpatrick School in Dunbartonshire, St Margaret’s Primary School in Cowie, Albyn School in Aberdeen and St Ninians Primary School in Stirling.
Working under the main contractor at each site, Robertson will supply and erect the timber frame, which includes structural Glu-Lam frames, roof cassettes and engineered timber panels.
Mike Turner, managing director, Robertson Timber Engineering, said: “Demand for timber continues to soar and it is ideally suited to the education sector. Not only is the kit high-performance but the speed of build is reduced giving a quicker return on investment.
“We have real experience of delivering in the education sector, with UHI Inverness and Redwell Primary School in Alloa being recent projects of note.”
