Safety Scotland appoints new associate director
Aberdeen-based CDM (Construction Design and Management) co-ordination, construction and allied industry safety consultancy Safety Scotland has announced the appointment of Michelle Forth as associate director.
Miss Forth, who holds over 10 years experience in the construction safety industry, is exceptionally well placed to take up this position of directorship, having already worked with the company for the past four and a half years as CDM coordinator/safety advisor.
Ron Murray, managing director of Safety Scotland, said: “We are really pleased to officially announce Michelle’s appointment to associate director. With exceptional industry awareness and a vast base of knowledge, Michelle is a highly valued member of the team who will assist us as we continue to develop the company.”
Miss Forth added: “While I will continue to liaise directly between clients, contractors and designers to minimise operational losses and occupational health problems, and carry out various other pre and post construction safety duties, I am also keen to begin working directly with external bodies and contribute towards the future of Safety Scotland. It will also be exciting to be closely involved in the evolution of the company, assisting in the growth, recruitment and retention of a talented team to be proud of.
“While ultimately my work aims to help reduce death and serious injury within the construction sector, the future of the construction safety industry depends upon the development and encouragement of others, and is something I’m passionate about. I hope to lean on my position to encourage more women into similar senior roles, generating a robust, diverse future for the industry.”
Michelle Forth is currently studying for her full chartered membership of both IOSH and CIOB. She is also current Vice Chair of Women in Property Northern Scotland, a committee member of Aberdeen Chartered Institute of Building, and she is actively involved in Aberdeen’s Construction Industry Development Forum.
