Savills launches Scottish commercial and mixed use team with new appointments

Savills has announced the further evolution and expansion of its Scottish development team with the appointment of Bruce Patrick, as head of commercial and mixed use development in Scotland.

Previously a director in Savills investment team, Bruce will be responsible for delivering strategic development projects across a variety of sectors from offices, retail and industrial to alternatives such as student accommodation and hotels.

Bruce will be assisted by Ebba Mowat, based in Savills’ Glasgow office, who has significant experience of working with key funders and developers in her previous role in the company’s investment team.

Nick Penny, head of Savills in Scotland, said: “Commercial and mixed use projects have been breathing life into cities across Scotland with ambitious approaches being taken within a wide range of sectors, from private developers to universities. Our Commercial and Residential Development teams within Savills have increasingly been working closely together in order to maximise such opportunities for our clients in this new development environment.

“By launching this new service, Bruce Patrick is creating a fully joined-up team, incorporating planning, residential, investment and funding advice. As such Savills will be uniquely placed to deliver a powerful offering within the market place.

“Savills commercial and mixed use team will fully integrate with our Scottish residential development team (headed by Ben Brough) and our planning team (headed by Alastair Wood), providing the entire spectrum of advice from inception to completion.”

Bruce Patrick and Ben Brough will be presenting jointly to an audience of more than 500 property professionals in Edinburgh tomorrow at Savills Scottish Property Outlook, providing a cross-sector overview of property trends and predictions.
