SBCC to host breakfast seminar on JTC contracts

The Scottish Building Contract Committee (SBCC) is holding a free breakfast seminar in September for an overview of the JCT 2024 launch, SBCC 2024 progress update and a Legal Case Update.
The SBCC produces building contracts designed to meet the needs of the construction industry in Scotland. The SBCC is the Scottish College of the Joint Contracts Tribunal Ltd. (JCT) and adapts JCT contracts to produce contracts compliant with Scottish law and practice.
JCT announced the phased release of the JCT 2024 Edition of Contracts earlier this year. The latest update to the suite includes a number of improvements to modernise and streamline the documents, provide future-proofing, reflect the latest legislative changes, and introduce a new contract family. JCT contracts are for use in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
The SBCC is in the process of adapting the JCT 2024 contract suite in the coming year to produce a new suite of SBCC 2024 contracts which will replace the current 2016 versions.
The event will take place on 5th September 2024 from 9.00-10.30am at Morton Fraser MacRoberts LLP, Quartermile Two, 2 Lister Square, Edinburgh, EH3 9GL.
