Scottish Borders grants planning permission for 57 new homes
Springfield Properties has been granted planning permission for 57 new affordable homes in the Scottish Borders.
Scottish Borders Council has approved the developer’s proposals to build 57 homes just off Main Street in Chirnside next to the playing fields.
The development will include a mix of two bedroom cottage flats and two, three and four bedroom terraced and semi-detached homes, with a play park.
Springfield Properties group partnership managing director, Tom Leggeat, said: “This will be one of our first affordable developments in the Scottish Borders and we’re really pleased to have been given planning consent for 57 new homes in Chirnside. These homes will be delivered in partnership with a housing association and we aim to start on site within the coming months.
“The homes designed for the development are stylish, spacious and highly energy efficient meaning they are cheaper to run. They will also help the local authority meet the affordable housing requirements in the area.”
