Scottish consultant awarded European CEO of the Year award

Simon Innes, managing director of Goodson Associates, has been awarded the prestigious European CEO of the Year Award 2015 at a dinner in London.

Goodson Associates are a Consulting Civil and Structural Engineer based in Edinburgh with a staff of over 60 with offices also in Glasgow, Aberdeen and Leeds.

Six leading consultancy and engineering executives were celebrated at the Association for Consultancy & Engineering European CEO Awards gala dinner.

The awards are part of the European CEO Conference, a forum for discussion and debate between CEO’s in the consultancy and engineering industry.

Now in their fifth year, the awards reward business leaders who combine innovation, imagination and inspiration to motivate their teams to improve their business competitiveness and performance.

The awards recognise CEO’s of companies based on size in three categories - small firm, medium firm and large firm and the winners were from Scotland, Switzerland and Spain.

Two lifetime awards were also presented during the evening to recognise the outstanding contribution made by Geoff French, CBE - past president of the Institution of Civil Engineers , and Kimmo Fischer a respected and trusted professional working in the Finnish infrastructure sector.

Speaking after the awards ceremony Flemming Pedersen, president of the European Federation of Engineering Consultancy Associations and the chair of the judging panel said: “These awards are the perfect celebration for the fine work that business leaders do across Europe to help drive economic growth. I am constantly impressed by their determination, innovation and the personal contributions they make to their companies. The individuals honoured at the ceremony will no doubt continue to be the wealth creators of tomorrow, and will play a crucial role in helping Europe’s economy move from being good, to being great in the months and years ahead”
