Designed by locally-based architectural practice O’Donnell Brown, the ex-Salvation Army Citadel has been comprehensively refurbished to provide self-contained, contemporary office space extending to 3,000 sq ft over two floors. The design of the refurbished property includes a large sculptural metal tower called the Beacon, a nod to the adjacent Bridgeton Umbrella.

New Olympia House will provide SU Scotland with their own front door and flexible accommodation with space for offices, meetings and local events. An option for SU Scotland to purchase the building has also been agreed, providing initial occupational flexibility and the ability for SU Scotland to secure their long term presence in Glasgow’s East End.

New Olympia House is situated on Olympia Street at Bridgeton Cross, perfectly located for SU, in the heart of Glasgow’s East End. This relocation is part of the organisation’s strategy to be working more closely with local schools and communities in the City of Glasgow.
