Seabraes viewpoint in Dundee set for renewal
Dundee’s Seabraes viewpoint could undergo improvement works if city councillors give the go-ahead next week.
The proposals include the upgrading of a small public open space at the viewpoint, with new hard and soft landscaping to make the area more accessible for all as well as the inclusion of new street furniture.
Neighbourhood services convener Councillor Anne Rendall said: “Seabraes is a popular spot on the Perth Road area and it’s important that we invest in the space to keep it enjoyable for its visitors.
“We want to bring the space up to date and give it longevity, using stylish sustainable materials and creating a new landscape that utilises plants that are ecologically and aesthetically beneficial.
“The plans will make the best use of space while retaining the popular mini-Bandstand and areas of grass for visitors to take in.”
The total spend for the upgrades will amount to £126,000 with the works expected to begin in January and be completed by April.
The neighbourhood services committee will consider the proposals at its next meeting on January 10.
