ICE student, graduate and trainee technician members, who live and work in Scotland, can submit a paper on any civil engineering-related topic in the format of research, a report or essay in an attempt to win the title of Scotland’s Emerging Engineer.

Entering the award is a great opportunity to:

• Promote new ideas, research and best practice to the engineering community
• Improve written and verbal skills to help prepare for Professional Review
• Demonstrate talent to the engineering community and peers
• Add to your Continuing Professional Development (CPD) record

Entries should be based on an individual’s own work and can be adapted from university/employment research papers, project reports, quarterly employment reports, written exercises or Professional Review reports.

The ICE Scotland winner will be shortlisted for the UK Emerging Engineers Award Final where the prestigious Institution Medal and cash prizes can be won. To enter, you need to complete the EEA entry form, attach your synopsis and email to scotland@ice.org.uk no later than 17.00 on Monday 11 May 2020. Shortlisted candidates, selected by expert judges to go forward to the ICE Final, will be notified by Monday 18 May and asked to submit their full paper.

In previous years, finalists were asked to present in person but due to current circumstances, this will be done virtually w/c 25 May 2020.
