On Friday 6th September all eyes were on the Duke of Buccleuch’s Queensberry Estate, the setting for the annual Buccleuch Property Challenge where, teams from across the UK’s property industry meet for the highly anticipated adventure race.

In teams of three, 240 racers set off around the estate on a mixed discipline course designed by BlueSky Experiences to be the event’s longest one to date covering over 50kms. Activities included mountain biking, paddleboarding, running and additional challenges such as boogie boarding, orienteering and Olympic-inspired games.

Buccleuch Property were delighted to also be raising awareness and funds for their partner charity for 2024, Chris’s House. Chris’s House is a ‘Centre for Help, Response and Intervention Surrounding Suicide’ which offers a safe environment where people in, or approaching, suicidal crisis have a safe place to go and get professional support. It’s Wishaw, North Lanarkshire centre was the first 24-hour, non-medical crisis centre in Scotland offering integrated support and they have since opened one in Dalkeith.

The teams were competing for one of three trophies with Ironside Farrar winning the category for mixed teams, Northumberland Estates for male and Tuffin Ferraby Taylor LLP for female teams.

80 teams took part this year with companies such as CBRE,  Cruden Homes, Harley Haddow, MSMR Architects, Miller Homes, and PMP represented.

Since its first event in 2006, the Buccleuch Property Challenge has raised over £215,000 for a range of different charities.
