Shared Apprenticeship Programme Business Breakfast
Do you work in the construction industry?
Are you interested in how your business could benefit from being involved with a shared apprentice programme?
Partners from Dundee & Angus are running a business breakfast event to tell you more about the benefits of this programme, and to let you hear firsthand from businesses who have taken part in the programme locally, and from an apprentice who will explain how it has impacted them.
There will also be organisations there to tell you more about the support that is available to employers interested in supporting a young person to get training and qualifications to give them a strong start in their construction careers, plus make sure your business is well placed to take advantage of the contract opportunities that an extra part-time resource could bring.
Hear first-hand from our apprentices and employers currently engaged with the shared apprentice programme. Find out what support is available to you and the benefits this programme can bring to your business.
David Martin CEO of Dundee City Council will open the event followed by a presentation from Kevin Murphy, chair of ASAP/director of curriculum at D&A College.
Book your place now and join us at our Business Breakfast to explore how you and your business can benefit from this exciting programme.
(If you are a sole trader, small, or medium construction firm; public/private sector procurement officer; officer with a business advice role, this event may be of particular interest).
If you can’t help support a 4 year apprenticeship, don’t worry, this programme allows you to support an apprentice for as little as 3 months at a time. Even if you have never had an apprentice before this could really help your business.
About the Shared Apprenticeship Programme
The Shared Apprenticeship Programme (ASAP) is an innovative collaboration between local partners and CITB. It has been established in response to industry demand as a way of providing construction contractors with an opportunity to meet local training skills requirements. It is particularly appealing to small and medium businesses who can support and benefit from an apprentice in a time when it is often not possible to commit to a 4 year apprenticeship.
The Shared Apprentice Programme is one of only 2 programmes in Scotland working across various craft areas. Having started in Angus, the Programme is now expanding into Dundee and its surrounding area.
