Mactaggart & Mickel Homes’ site manager Stuart Gillespie is once again named amongst the country’s best after winning a prestigious industry award for a thirteenth time.

Stuart, the senior site manager at the company’s Greenan Views development in Ayrshire, won in the medium housebuilder category at the National House Building Council Pride in the Job Regional Awards.

The latest success takes his tally in the NHBC’s regional awards to 13. The awards recognise site managers’ dedication and commitment to achieving the best standards in housebuilding.

Stuart, who lives in Wishaw, said: “I’ve always felt that it’s great to have your work recognised in these awards.

“They are testament to the work of all those involved in delivering homes that we take pride in, and our customers are proud to live in.

“I’d like to thank all my colleagues and those who work with us for playing such an important role in successful developments like Greenan Views.”

Stuart has worked with colleagues at Mactaggart & Mickel Homes since starting as an apprentice joiner more than 30 years ago. He is now in the running to win the overall ‘UK supreme’ award in the medium builder category.

Peter Shepherd, Mactaggart & Mickel Homes director added: “We are delighted, and not at all surprised, that Stuart remains recognised as a leader amongst his industry peers.

“Stuart has worked with us for many years. In that time, he has come to demonstrate in a real and vivid way our commitment to quality.

“He’s a great example to all of us and everyone at Mactaggart and Mickel Homes is proud to have him as our colleague.”

Award judges assess site manager’s work across key areas including attention to detail, leadership, technical expertise, and health and safety.

Stuart now goes forward to compete for the ultimate prize in house building, the Pride in the Job Supreme Awards which will be unveiled at a gala ceremony in London.
