‘SOS Big Build’ plea to construction sector after vandals strike charity farm
A charity which preserves and protects the formal gardens of the historic Douglas Support Estate in Coatbridge has issued a plea for funding, building materials, labour and advice after its efforts to provide a facility that meets the needs of the community were hampered by vandals.
The Viewpark Conservation Group had planned to restore a farmhouse to create a reception area and information & education centre as well as a café on its site to celebrate the Estate’s 17th century heritage.
The charity is looking for portacabins, old plant (such as mini diggers, tractors, whackers, rollers) type 1 sand, drainage materials, fencing, bricks and breeze blocks.
Grace McNeil from the charity said: “I know it sounds a lot but we will take any help we can get however big or small.”
