South Ayrshire Council calls for views on local development plan

South Ayrshire Council is looking for feedback as the first step in making a new Local Development Plan for South Ayrshire (LDP3).

The first stage in the LDP3 process is preparing an Evidence Report. This will contain detailed information on a range of planning matters for South Ayrshire to help inform the policies in the next plan.

The council is presenting the evidence it already holds against each relevant policy area in a series of ‘Topic Papers’. We are seeking the views of those who live, work, and visit South Ayrshire on the range and depth of the information in these topic papers: whether individuals think it’s sufficient, or whether they think additional information might be necessary.

Following this ‘Call for Evidence’, the full Evidence Report will be produced.

You can contribute to this survey if you have information to help inform the Local Development Plan. This could include information like data, research, reports, or evidence collected as part of a Local Place Plan.

The papers have been prepared based on the policies within National Planning Framework 4, and the Planning Service will be issuing them over the coming months, in manageable batches. The first six papers are now live on our new LDP3 Hub website.

The LDP Hub is the council’s interactive portal for the new Local Development Plan, where it will be posting all documents, online mapping, surveys and consultations. You can also sign up quickly on the hub to receive updates on LDP3 progress and any consultations.
