Scottish Procurement Alliance (SPA) is building on the success of the NH1 Offsite Construction framework by hosting pre-tender engagement seminars across Scotland to discuss its renewal.

To date, SPA partners have used the NH1 framework to plan the delivery of over 2,800 homes through 57 projects. All organisations able to deliver offsite housing are invited to discuss their plans and share ideas about how best to promote the use of off-site.

The NH2 framework is aimed at delivering a range of housing options for the Scottish public sector supporting the drive to deliver the government’s 50,000 new homes target through offsite building methods.

SPA is holding two meetings, one at its offices in Livingston on Wednesday 16 May and one at North Inch Community Campus in Perth on Thursday 17 May.

Tony Woods, technical manager, said: “Our pre-tender process allows organisations to learn how the NH1 framework was delivered along with its successes and the lessons we have learnt from it. In addition to this, organisations are given the opportunity to influence the structure and set up of the NH2 framework, ensuring it is fit for purpose in the Scotland.”

SPA was created both by and for organisations that buy products and services for the construction, refurbishment and maintenance of social housing and public buildings in Scotland. Its formation coincided with the introduction of new procurement regulations in Scotland, which placed additional requirements on organisations involved in procurement using public funds.

Today SPA has 62 Associate Partners in addition to its 14 Founding Partners. Ranging from small co-operatives to large national housing providers along with 16 of the most influential Scottish local authorities.
