Springfield given green light for new homes in Heathhall
Springfield Properties has been granted planning consent for 64 new homes in Heathhall, Dumfries.
The development will transform a vacant brownfield site with a range of 1, 2, 3 and 4 bedroom affordable homes with open green space and access to existing walking and cycle routes.
Delivered in partnership with Cunninghame Housing Association, the homes will be energy efficient to keep running costs low for the residents.
Springfield managing director for affordable housing, Tom Leggeat, said: “It’s great to have been given the go ahead for new, much needed, affordable homes for people who need them in Dumfries and Galloway.
“We’re excited to begin construction and are looking forward to what I hope will be the first of many ventures with Cunninghame Housing Association.”
Frank Sweeney, chief executive of Cunninghame Housing Association, said: “Tremendous news that our partners, Springfield Properties, have been granted planning consent by Dumfries and Galloway Council for our joint venture in Heathhall, Dumfries. We look forward to working with them on this transformational new build project.”
Work to build the new homes is expected to start next year.
