Springfield Properties signs agreement to unlock Dundee roundabout works
Improvement works to a roundabout near the Springfield Properties Dykes of Gray village development in Dundee will begin shortly after the housebuilder signed a Minute of Agreement with Transport Scotland.
Finalising the design and improvement plans for the roundabout has been a complex project involving a number of stakeholders, including Dundee City Council and Transport Scotland. The Minute of Agreement is the culmination of extensive work and liaison between the parties and represents a pivotal stage for the junction work.
The junction upgrades will include the installation of traffic lights, better pedestrian access and increasing the number of lanes. Work is due to start later this year, with an anticipated completion date of Autumn 2024.
Dykes of Gray is one of Springfield’s Village developments and is located to the west of Dundee. It is already home to over 750 residents, a convenience store and a number of play parks. When complete, the village will also include other business opportunities, such as a nursery and a café.
Innes Smith, chief executive officer of Springfield Properties, said: “Dykes of Gray is one of our standout village developments and is already a popular place to live, with the amenities that the village offers itself, together with its award-winning public realm.
“Our commitment to delivering the upgrades to the junction has never wavered, however it was crucial that we secured the necessary approvals and agreements with other key stakeholders. Now the Minute of Agreement has been signed, we can make meaningful progress which will see the roundabout improved for the local community.”
