Stewart Milne Group Aberdeen event to target new subcontractor relationships
The Stewart Milne Group will be highlighting significant opportunities for tradespeople and subcontractors to work with it on developments across Scotland at an industry event in Aberdeen next week.
The housebuilder and timber systems manufacturer is holding a meet the buyer event in order to develop new relationships with local sub-contractors to support its own, growing workforce as part of its significant growth plans. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet members of the Stewart Milne Group team along with members of the Aberdeen City Council Employability Skills team, the CITB and Constructionline.
Stewart Milne Group is currently expanding its operations across Scotland and north-west England with plans to deliver thousands of new homes in the next three years, including launching nine new developments as part of the firm’s 40th anniversary celebrations.
Stewart Milne Group, in conjunction with Aberdeen City Council, will host the event at Aberdeen Town House on Wednesday 10 June from 12noon to 4pm. It is particularly aimed at tradespeople including timber frame erectors, joiners, bricklayers, electricians, plasterers, plumbers, roofers and painters with opportunities in Aberdeen and further afield.
Glenn Allison, chief executive officer of Stewart Milne Group, said: “We are committed to using the local supply chain across our developments. This allows us to support the local economy and gives us the benefit of high-quality tradespeople with local knowledge.
“We are implementing significant growth plans in our homes division, which is creating new opportunities for subcontractors and the wider supply chain community to work with us in support of our own, growing workforce. This event in Aberdeen in June will give us the chance to make contact with local tradespeople and firms and build new, long term relationships.
“The event will allow attendees to meet our team and learn more about the opportunities and benefits of working with us, including how to engage with us on new projects such as our Countesswells development.”
