Stewart Milne Group to create 250 jobs over next year
Stewart Milne Group plans to create 250 new jobs during the next 12 months through the growth of its homes and timber systems divisions.
The Aberdeen-based firm, which employs more than 800 people across Scotland and the north west of England, created 160 new jobs in 2014.
The new recruits, a 30 per cent increase from its current workforce, will be based across the main areas of operation in Scotland, the north-west of England and the timber facility in Witney, Oxfordshire.
The posts on offer will range from tradespeople and site managers to architects and designers, as well as corporate roles in human resources and finance.
Glenn Allison, chief executive of the Stewart Milne Group, said demand for premium home developments was driving growth.
He said: “This is an enormously exciting time to be working in the construction sector, as we bring premium new homes projects forward to meet market demand and continue to grow our timber systems business
“Our recruitment this year will include the full spectrum, spanning joiners, electricians, plumbers and roofers through to design, cost estimating, contracts management, HR and finance.
“The message from us is that if you are talented then we would like to hear from you.”
In November last year, group founder and executive chairman, Stewart Milne, launched a campaign to get trades taken more seriously and become more valued across the country.
