Stewart Milne Homes lends support to Mission Christmas Appeal
Stewart Milne Homes has helped Northsound Cash for Kids to get its Mission Christmas Appeal underway.
The housebuilder donated £500 to help kickstart the initiative to ensure that every child in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire has a present to open on Christmas Day.
Last year Northsound Cash for Kids Mission Christmas campaign distributed £400,742 worth of gifts to 9,279 children in the local area and the campaign is more important than ever this year with families struggling from the impact of COVID-19.
Michelle Ferguson, charity manager at Northsound Cash for Kids Mission Christmas campaign, said: “We are very grateful for the support of Stewart Milne Homes who will help to make Christmas day special for a number of local children.
“Christmas is traditionally a happy time of year but we know for some it is incredibly challenging as they are struggling to make ends meet. Some find it hard to heat their home and put food on the table and are simply unable to buy any Christmas gifts.
“The impact of COVID-19 means that the support of the local community is more important than ever this year and will hope others will also offer support in the run-up to Christmas.”
Stewart Milne Homes is creating a number of new communities including Countesswells, Charleston in Cove and Silver Birches in Alford and is keen to give back to the families in the North East.
Neil Thomson, regional director from Stewart Milne Homes North, said: “We are proud to play our part in supporting Mission Christmas to make sure every child has a present to open on Christmas Day.
“The work of Cash for Kids is so valuable in our area and we know the difference that they make to the lives of many vulnerable children and families which is more important than ever at this challenging time.”
