The plans include the delivery of 108 new homes on land at Marchfield (H14), building on the well-established and award-winning community at Summerpark. The proposed homes include a mix of 3 to 5-bedroom properties featuring internal layouts that offer open-plan living spaces.

The scheme will deliver a range of community benefits, including a secure children’s play area, tree-lined streets, and pedestrian links to the Marchfield Rounall and wider public right of way network. In addition, new green areas of public open space will be delivered on-site which will be accessible to the local community, benefitting new and existing residents.

Story Homes remains committed to investing in Dumfries & Galloway as a region, and if given the green light, this new phase would continue to create benefits for the local economy during the construction phase; via direct and indirect employment opportunities through the sub-contractor and supply chains, as well as an increased demand for local businesses and services when the new homes are occupied.

First opened in 2008, Summerpark was Story Homes’ first Scottish development and remains the largest in Dumfries & Galloway. It is now home to more than 500 residents and has been recognised with multiple awards for design and quality.

It is anticipated that a decision on these plans will be received by Dumfries & Galloway Council by the end of the year.
