Taylor Wimpey donates £1,000 to Winchburgh Community Growing Group
Taylor Wimpey East Scotland has donated £1,000 to the Winchburgh Community Growing Group to celebrate Community Garden Week.
Running from today until Sunday, Community Garden Week aims to shine a light on the amazing range of community and school gardens across the country.
Taylor Wimpey’s support of the Winchburgh Community Growing Group, which has its community garden based right in the heart of Winchburgh’s newly formed Auldcathie District Park, marks its ongoing commitment to Winchburgh as work gets underway at its new development at Auldcathie View which overlooks the new park.
Commenting on the support that it has received from Taylor Wimpey, John West, who heads up the Winchburgh Community Growing Group, said: “We are extremely grateful for this generous donation received from Taylor Wimpey, and we can’t thank them enough for their support of our community garden.
“We have all become very well aware of the importance of green open space and the role that gardens in particular can play in supporting wellbeing for everyone. Taylor Wimpey’s donation of £1,000 will help us to continue to develop our community garden as a welcoming outdoor space for local people and visitors to the town to benefit from.”
Kirsty McGill, sales and marketing director at Taylor Wimpey East Scotland, said: “To celebrate Community Garden Week, which recognises the importance and the positive impact that community gardens can have, we are proud to offer our support to Winchburgh Community Growers and their impressive new community garden which enjoys a key location within the new Auldcathie District Park.
“Community gardens have an incredible ability to bring people together and we know this community garden is already providing a great resource for the local community, and we’re looking forward to seeing it continue to grow and flourish.
“We do more than just build high-quality homes. Being able to work with local community groups and organisations that surround our developments means a great deal to us, and it’s great to know that we are helping to make a difference to the lives of people in local communities.”
