Taylor Wimpey event boosts West Lothian winter appeal
Taylor Wimpey East Scotland has raised £750 to support The School Bank West Lothian following its recent Spooktacular show home event at Sibbalds Wynd in Bathgate.
The donation will go directly to supporting the charity’s Winter Appeal, which aims to provide warm winter coats, socks, hats, gloves and boots to children who need them most across West Lothian.
This fundraising boost is in addition to the housebuilder’s ongoing commitment to working in partnership with The School Bank West Lothian, based in Livingston, to donate £25 for each new home sold and legally completed at its Sibbalds Wynd development in Bathgate.
As part of that initiative, a grand sum of £4,725 will be paid to The School Bank West Lothian as work at the development progresses.
The School Bank West Lothian is a volunteer-led group that aims to improve the lives of children in West Lothian experiencing financial hardship. Each year, they distribute new school uniforms and other items to hundreds of families locally.
Collette Moran, project manager for The School Bank West Lothian, said: “In the next three months, we expect to receive over 300 requests for winter jackets, so our winter appeal aims to help and provide children with warm jackets, hats, gloves and boots so they can arrive at school reach to focus, learn and thrive instead of worrying about damp and wet clothes.
“We are extremely grateful for the support that Taylor Wimpey East Scotland has given us following the successful launch of their show homes in Bathgate, and we can’t thank them enough for their generous donation, which will be used to boost our Winter Appeal.
“I would like to thank them sincerely on behalf of everyone who uses our project’s services locally.”
Kirsty McGill, sales and marketing director at Taylor Wimpey East Scotland, said: “Following our show home launch event in Bathgate, we are delighted to be able to support our local charity partner - The School Bank West Lothian - with this donation to boost the reach of their Winter Appeal which aims to help families across West Lothian directly.
“Being able to support and work with local charities and organisations that surround our developments means a great deal to us, and it’s always lovely to know that we are helping to make a difference in the lives of people in our local communities.”
