Taylor Wimpey West Scotland teamed up with the Barmulloch Community Development Company (BCDC) to announce that it will donate £25 for each new home sold and legally completed within the first phase of new homes at the development in Robroyston.

The first tranche of £700 was donated this month, and as work on the first phase of new homes progresses, a grand sum of £2,975 will be paid to BCDC. This first donation will support the charity’s various community projects and initiatives.

BCDC is a development trust based in the northeast of the city. It owns and manages three community facilities and provides an activity programme designed to bring people together and support the most vulnerable groups in the local area.

Martin McElroy, chief executive of BCDC, said: “We are extremely grateful for this first donation of £700 from Taylor Wimpey West Scotland, and we can’t thank them enough. This money will be put to work locally to help us deliver our range of projects to the local community in Robroyston and the surrounding areas. On behalf of everyone who uses our services, I would like to say a huge thank you.”

Audrey Ross, sales and marketing director at Taylor Wimpey West Scotland, said: “We are delighted to be able to support BCDC in this meaningful way. Our first donation provides a link between the new community emerging at our Monument Way development and the existing community of Robroyston. Working with BCDC is a real honour, and we are extremely proud to show our support in this way.

“Being able to work with local charities and organisations that surround our developments means a great deal to us, and it’s always lovely to know that we are helping to make a difference in the lives of people in our local communities.”
