Taylor Wimpey secures planning consent for more new homes in Winchburgh

Taylor Wimpey East Scotland has secured detailed planning consent from West Lothian Council for the provision of 190 new and affordable homes on land located near Beatlie Road, within Winchburgh.

The Seton Rise development forms part of the wider Winchburgh masterplan that when complete will deliver at least 3,800 new homes, improved transport links, employment opportunities, and state-of-the-art schools. This impressive masterplan also provides stunning new outdoor spaces and local amenities that include a new canal marina, the new Auldcathie District Park, as well as a new motorway junction that provides convenient access to the M9.

Taylor Wimpey’s Seton Rise development forms an important part of the delivery of the masterplan vision, which will integrate with the existing new housing and features that have been completed in phase 1 of the masterplan.

The development will offer 171 two, three and four-bedroom private new homes, as well as 19 affordable homes in a mix of two and three-bedroom terraced homes together with the associated infrastructure such as roads, parking and open space that is required for a development of this scale.

Its location within the wider masterplan will also allow homeowners at Seton Rise to benefit from great access to local amenities and open space, which will appeal to a wide range of buyers who have the opportunity to enjoy a perfect balance of quiet rural life with the convenience of Edinburgh close by.

Pauline Mills, land and planning director for Taylor Wimpey East Scotland, said: “We are delighted to confirm that an application for Approval of Matters Specified by Condition has been granted planning permission for our development of new homes on land off Beatlie Road in Winchburgh, and we are looking forward to continuing to play our part in the delivery of the Winchburgh masterplan.

“As well as an impressive range of new homes, our development will provide a range of economic benefits for the local Winchburgh and wider West Lothian area which includes supporting around 665 jobs during construction, as well as the attraction of new customers to local businesses from those who choose to live in one of the new homes this development aims to deliver.”

John Hamilton, chief executive, Winchburgh Developments Ltd, said: “It’s great to see Taylor Wimpey East Scotland secure planning consent for their latest development at Winchburgh. We’ve been working alongside their team almost continuously since the sale of the Seton Park site in 2013. They, and many of their customers, have been with us over the last ten years to see the masterplan taking shape with the emergence of some fantastic new amenities in the immediate area, with many more to follow.”
